Electric seat controls not working

Got into the car today and the driver's side electric seat controls are not working. Passenger side working as normal.
Has anyone experienced this or got any suggestions?
Thanks.

It's happened before!

Have a look at the connectors under the seat to make sure they have not come adrift and ensure they are pushed home.

Thanks for the reply.
I started to fish around under the seat to see what connectors I could find. When I pulled gently on on plastic trim under the front of the seat, I heard a microswitch click. The seat has worked fine evry since.
So. Problem solved, but I can't think for the life of me what purpose that switch would serve.
