| What is best oil available in Australia for MY8.5 Disco 3 |
|
Out of warranty now so will be doing own servicing, thinking of using Castrol Edge Sport 10w 40. What are people using and why ? Also what oil filter are you using if not genuine ? Want good oil as tow most of the time. Do not take life too seriously no one gets out alive anyway!
MY 8.5 Izmir Blue HSE Disco 3, ARB Bullbar, IPF HID spot lights, GME TX3440 all in mic UHF, Tripple batteries (2 x Yellow top aux under bonnet), Prodigy brake control, tinted widows, ARB compressor (under bonnet), Prem sound, Prem Nav, Electronic steering column, Adaptive lights, Center fridge, Active diff, Hybrid TV, Side moulds.

Cooper filters make an oil filter but if your car is a 08my do not use the fuel filter they have listed. It is a 05/06MY filter which changed from 07my on.
I haven't had to change my airfilter at this stage so do not know if an aftermarket one is available - same for the pollen filter.

Why dont you use an oil that meets the recommended Ford spec??? Such as Castrol Magnetic 5w 30 A1, not the A3 version. Club Exped trailer

Yes it is TDV6, I have seen a few people use Magnetic but on the Castrol web site they recomend Edge. Not worried about the cost just want the best oil. Do not take life too seriously no one gets out alive anyway!

I use Edge 5-30 as I understand that it is the LR recommendation and it meets all of their specs.

I recently had my car serviced at the dealer. They used Mobil 1

When mine was serviced by dealers they have used Castrol Edge 5-30, Mobil 1 and Castrol Magnatec at different services at different dealers. Since servicing myself I have stuck with the Castrol Edge 5-30 as it is the LR recommendation despite dealers doing their own thing.

Just serviced my TDv6 (06yr) through a specicalist L/R service provider (not dealer) and they used Penrite synthetic 5w / 40w 06 SE, long range tank, Mitchell Bros hitch, dual Kaymar spare wheel carriers, Traxside dual batteries,
