Completely Locked out, flat battery! |

Hi all
Have been offshore for 2 weeks, came back to my car and the battery is flat as a pancake. I tried the Manual lock on the passenger door, it moves freely but it will not open the door! Anyone got any ideas how I can get in!
Battery always goes flat when left for a anything more than a few days.

Do you have trailer electrics? If so, one of the wires is a live feed from the battery - you can use that to supply power to charge it, or to at least open the door. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Have you got the towing electrics fitted? If so I remember reading on here somewhere that it is possible to charge the battery via the 's' electrics. will have a search and see if I can find the post

Is that 7 pin single socket or 13 pin single socket?
The pin-outs are available on Internet. In fact, I've got an adaptor made up for the 13 pin one. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. Also, if you find that the battery it self is alright, an option would be to get yourself a solar panel for a battery charger and leave it connected whilst off shore, maintaining the charge. CTek do the solar units, add on's. ATB

LOCKED OUT - but the manual key did work albeit a bit stiff - try some lock lubricant - Iid mine just in case I was at the same position but lock frozen as well
Have a look at the threads with my monica on them...
I reckon was the air suspension pump problem.....having said that it hasn't done the same since
Maplins also do PV (photo-voltaic) panels in a range of sizes..some quire well priced BREXIT - done properly.

Thanks very much for all the replies, I managed to get in! The lock felt like it was deadlocked and tried turning it anti clockwise as previous threads state, it did not work for me, but I gave it a seriously aggressive turn in a clockwise direction and it popped open! Still like to find out why it is draining though! It's seriously annoying, is there a known fault with the suspension that causes it?

Is it the original battery? if so, and your profile says 2005 vehicle, then its probably past its best. 6 years is a good innings.
It is also worth buying a suitable charger to keep it topped up, and to fully recharge the battery if it does get flattened. CTEK chargers are all the rage on here, they can deep charge the lead calcium battery that is fitted to the D3. A normal trickle charger will not fully recharge a flat D3 battery.

Small panel solar charger off ebay on the dash board wired into the fuse box behind the glovebox will trickle charge and you can then leave it as long as you like.

It's a fairly new battery, less than a year old, think I will invest In a trickle charger, there must be a reason for it draining after only six days though, entertainment system shut down and car went to sleep fine, suspension was in access mode
