Can I retro fit DAB to my D4 commercial? |
|
Hi from a newbie.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible at reasonable cost to add dab to my 2011 commercial. It currently has the better ICE with the touch screen.
Thanks in advance.

I can't answer your question, but can tell you I have dab radio in my Disco4 but apart from the traffic channel (which only seems to work in city areas) I never use it.
You may well have a favorite dab channel you want to listen to, but again, I don't know if it would work everywhere in the country. Perhaps others can tell us more about that.

Thanks BBDisco3 but I guess it isn't very popular so probably won't be fitting DAB after all.

I have it and predominately listen to DAB when I've not got the iPod on
I'm not sure, but I think the head units are different. You could try asking someone with access to the parts catalogue to see whether they can see if that shows just a single unit of more components for the DAB. But chances are even that won't give you a conclusive answer.

For radio, I use DAB most of the time. Reception is very good and, for voice, quality is better than FM. Only really drops out in pretty out of the way places. I'd recommend. But don't know how to retrofit I'm afraid.

I use mine all the time... almost forget it had FM...
If you can't retro-fit, have you thought about the Pure Highway?

I've heard others say it's good although I've never used it myself.

Will keep looking. My wife has a "Pure Highway" in her Corsa which is ok but I hate the loose wires.
Thanks for your advice.

Hi all I bought some bits the other day and I have a d4 dab radio module which is of no use to me complete with most cable, it fits into the rear quarter and has to be enabled by Wiggs with his fault mate, I'm sure he would confirm? I have no idea of a price but pm me if your interested. Gav
