Revving of the engine during traveling

Hi,

We own a DISCO 3, 2.7 automatic with the command control. We purchased the car 40K km ago. From the beginning on we noticed that regardless how heavy the car is loaded, when climbing up a road, in a constant manner, without using the throttle, the rev counter shows a cosntant fluctuation in the numbe rof revs. As soon as I accelerate or brake, it stops. It also does not occur when driving on a horizontal road. Regardless the usage of the cruise control, it keeps revving 200 revs/ min.

As we purchased the car at a dealer, they gave it good service. The revving was still there, but only 100 revs/ min. It's nit too annoying, but as time passes on, the revving comes back.

Is it possible that it has loss of pressure in a certain hose/ line towards the engine: say an air hose? Or is it a common "bug"?

Cheers.

Michel

Hi Michel,

Do some reading here.
I hope this is not your problem but if it is, you should pay your dealer a visit to have the gearbox oil tested!
For further details, contact Dan_NL or Renton, in that case your can discuss in dutch.

regards,

Wiljo

Cheers! This website has been of more value than all of my visits to the LR-dealer!

sounds like you have an issue with you throttle housing if the engine is surging/hunting?may be worth checking it out or replacing. LR did have this issue on certain chassis range vehicles and usually occurs at speeds of 70-80mph?
may help?
