There doesn't seem to be a formal mechanism for reporting this sort of thing in the UK except to the seller's local trading standards. Likely to be Hillingdon based on seller location, so will bang some details over to them.
Wouldn't waste time reporting to eBay as they'll just tug the ad and the chap will set up with a new ID I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Seller's address comes up on google if you search for his phone number from the ad. I've reported it to Trading Standards and will update if they respond. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

My seats went like that after about 20k miles. Known fault with cloth seats.
But it still looks like a ringer. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

Soon find out, I've just asked seller a question on ebay as to how it can be 95k when it sold over a year ago at 155k miles. Interesting to see if he knows.
*edit* Perhaps worth reporting to ebay though, ok yes he'll just create a new username but it might prevent some poor soul buying a clocked motor. Although I think most will find it dubious as it is.

Well that will make trading standards' job easier

It won't make any difference, if it's wound back it'll still be wound back, the advert even if removed can still be checked, the mileage and accuracy can still be checked and some poor sod doesn't have to buy it then fight through trading standards to get money back. Because even if proven, once sold people seldom get their money back.

I see some-one has bid on it. I'm sure at one time you could see the full id of bidders and warn them if you were aware of anything suspicious. However you can't see whole of bidder id now.

He's set the ebay settings so that any messages or questions sent don't show up on the advert.....
Someome should call him on his mobile and see how he responds.... If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Do you honestly expect him to pull or amend the ad?
Like taking a stick to the park to poke dogs with- a lack of response is your best outcome... Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Any one object to inviting the seller to the forum where he can learn more about what he wants to sell, and give him the oppertunity of considering changing his advert and putting right what must be a "genuine" typing error in the numbers.
It would also make him aware that almost 1000 members are already aware of his possible scam.
Perhaps the ploy is that he calls it a jeep so the buyer thinks he doesn't know what he is selling at such a "bargain" price.

I can summarise how that will go with three words.....
Kev The Builder.
Or as he had it, kevthebuilder. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
