90k service & brake hoses |
|
I was ringing around yesterday to get prices for 90k service, as usual huge variation in prices, what are others being quoted ? I was quoted between £300 and £650
What caused some of the variation was full flexible brake hose replacement, one dealer said this was standard at 90k service, another said it was because my D3 is 6 years old in august.
I have been told that the £300 is full 90k service excluding the hoses (this is a main dealer)
New Tyres yesterday too..... 19000 on a set of pirelli's, disappointing, so gone for good year this time, all in all a sad day for the credit card!
What are others being told ? Got our Disco... Love it.....

Flexi hose replacement is recommended at 6years (90K service works out at 6th year service).
It is not a standard part of the service.

Is it really necessary to replace the flex brake hoses at 90K/6 years? Can't find a good answer on this.
I think MOT is also checking this, so may be better to wait untill they say so.
any suggestions?

They tried this on me recently when i had the belts done.
I asked TLO for a quote and he has NEVER heard of anyone needing them or replacing them.
Im going to check mine monthly and wait for a bit.

Interestingly enough I had my 90k done by TFC ( ) and he pointed out the bulge in the original flexible hose on the OSF.
I'd definitely check them throughly at the least. I can't remember how much the hose is but it's not big money and a lot less than you'll pay in underwear if the thing pops when you most need it.
Fitting it is complicated by the lower retaining bolt possibly seizing on so copious amount of release oil and care - again another top bit of advice from Iain. I see no ships........

I had mine done on the 6yr limit as I am no where near 90k. Cost me £375 inc vat for the service, brakes hoses included in the fixed price.
