Push fit Air Spring connectors

Any one who has change their shock absorbers or removed the spring assemblies would have noticed the standard brass fittings are not great to work with and at more than $30 each and single use specified a pain to have, I suspect ,most people use them a few times before replacing them.

Having assembled spare air line and valves for emergency repairs from a truck suspension shop a few years agon I went for another visit recently when rebushing the front end of the Disco.

Below are picture of $13 each re useable push fit fittings from my local kenworth dealer.

Much nicer to work with and more rubust.

Fitting tip: Fit the Strut assembly back to the vehicle and tighten the top mount bolts first then fit the vallve from above as these are close to the same size as the hole in the strut mount. Push in the airline and all is done.

Thanks Ianv. Screwing in the brass fitting without the airline pulling & encouraging cross-threading sounds a much better idea. Also, the originals sometimes bind on the airline making turning difficult. Maybe they should be fitted to the valve blocks too especially the front when fitting a bull-bar.
