little box and suspension Help

Two qestions if I may first - just fitted genuine LR twin electrics, The little trailer light on dash lights up with the the indicators when connected, so do I have to have it enabled for the suspension to know when I am towing or is it already if the dash light thing lights up?
2nd while fitting I found a little box hidden away below where the tow bar stowage thing is behind the left panel in boot.
Its got "TRAKNAV AEM 4000" on its front , does anyone know what it is ?
Thanks
Mike

See http://www.cs-electronics.co.uk/products_t...raknav.htm this may give you an indication as to what the module does.

I don't know about the little box but if the trailer symbol is lighing on indication it appears the Disco is set up for towing electrics, which is odd because if you just fitted them it shouldn't be.

Best bet for the answer to that is to pop into a dealer and nicely ask if they will plug the computer in and check, they should do it for free as it only takes a couple of seconds to check. If it's not however they will charge to change it as they have to recoup the rather large cost of having bought the computer which is specifically for landrovers unlike their other computers that do loads of different makes.

If in doubt best to check Thumbs Up

check wiring

Hi
The proper wiring must used for the towbar connections and as said it has to be enabled by the computer but
some of the D3/D4 were coming out of the factory pre enabled, if you have the OE wiring the car will self adjust to compensate for the weight difference but it wont do this if you have and aftermarket bypass relay fitted.
I m not 100% sure on this as someone told me the above so someone on here might be able to tell me if this is correct or not
cheers
