Aux Socket for Ipod

I have a 2008 D3 HSE with an Aux socket located behind the central armrest for use with an MP3 player, etc. Problem is, when I attach my Itouch it only works on properly through one channel, (right side) with a much weaker signal on the left side. I've taken a look at the contacts, etc and all seems OK. Itouch is fine and plays sterio when connected to headphones, so I know it's not the player. Any ideas how I can fix the problem? Rest of Sterio system in D3 is working fine...

I had this problem on my D4. Even though cable was ok in other kit I only got one and a bit channels through the car however it was plugged in and wiggled about. Used a different and apparently identical cable and it now works fine. Go figure Confused

there are a few posts on here somewhere that tell you how to wire up permenantly inside the passenger footwell, have a look here. You will need to keep a plug in the back one to make this work, I just cut an old plug down.
