Pioneer Avic F500BT integration, help needed please |
|
Gents I bid you a good day, I have tried following the posts regarding the installation of this specific interface and I am now more confused than ever before....
Right i have the following:
1x New Avic F500BT in the box
2008 Discovery 3 S 2.7 Diesel with a 6 stacker HI-line OEM Head Unit, HK setup with amp under the seat. It is not the Logic 7 though.
The Question is as follow, what adaptors / connectors/looms ect do i need to buy as I am in Europe at the moment (these parts are very hard to find in South Africa)
Second Question I do understand i will lose my CD functionality but I don't need it....How do I go about installing this unit into my car including a reverse view camera? I would like to keep the original interface of the car as much as possible. Can i install the Avic F 500 bt and use it with the cars speakers?
I have been searching the net for a while and looked at so many cable adaptors that i don't know anymore.
Any help will be very much appreciated

An answer is not guaranteed on these forums. If someone knows they might answer to be helpful.
If you don’t get an answer you might want to utilize search or just scroll through posts. From personal experience of having done that there are many threads in the past where someone has asked something similar and most of the time the answer has been that it isn’t worth to replace the devices on the MOST bus. I think some people have done it, though, and have written their experiences down here somewhere..
I elected not to replace the 6-CD changer and HK7 system. Instead, I bought a device which participates on the MOST bus, does BT streaming and BT calls. I wrote down how it was done, too. I’ve been very happy with it. You’ll find the thread down below somewhere on forum where we are right now.
For navigation I use Waze on my phone and a Brodit holder.
As for reverse camera, there is at least a few threads and one guide where someone has installed a camera, a GVIF and connected it to the existing satnav. You can probably use that to figure out how lay the cabling even if you’re not going to connect a GVIF but to something else.
Good luck with your search.

On searching, I’ve noticed that one keyword or two (max) is usually a good way to go.
So... hypothetically - if you limit your search to ICE D3 forum and search for replace most
Or perhaps, if you went to Maintenance & Mods D3 and searched for, say, GVIF installation
... you might get some late evening reading that might be of interest
You’re very welcome
