Retor-fit tow electronics for D4 ? |
|
I've done a search and can't find anything - is it as easy to retro-fit the towing gubbins in the D4 as it is in the D3...?
I took a dealer option tow pack with the D3 so didn;t have to do this myself. But I really only need the tow bar now for the MaxxRaxx bike carrier. And seeing as I have a spare tow bar I am thinking that I wouldn't need to shell out another 600+ euro...
All I need is to have the plug for the rear light board. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

Very easy to fit ... Did mine on Saturday .. Took about 1/2 hour
I only fitted the black plug ... Didn't bother with the White as I don't use it .
Got them brand new on eBay for £40 Bargain G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Cheers Wiggs
I suppose I should have just PM'd you my list of "how easy is it" questions seeing as you have already ripped your D4 apart The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Are they the same block connectors for the d4 as d3? Practice safe eating - always use condiments.

No trouble so far
tow pack, tasmods sills
IT goes without saying that you should never have more children than you have car windows

Connectors are the same but the wiring is different and NOT interchangeable between the D3 and D4. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
