Park Brake Fault - Auto Release Not Functional |
|
Hi - I received the above error message on Saturday, it's not really a big problem to me at the moment as it still works fine apart from the auto release obviously which i never use - I have only had the car 4 weeks though and last night the reverse sensors stopped working, to add to this over the weekend the gear display on the dash started working intermittently and I am worried the car has some kind of eletrical fault going on - spoke to the guy I bought it off this morning who said to take off the neutral connection on the battery and leave overnight which will reset the CPU and might sort the problem but i'm not convinced! - any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.

That is a possible solution. Quicker way is to disconnect & then touch the neg & pos leads together for 30 seconds or so.
Also check your Brake Bulbs have not blown as they account for a lot of strange errors.
or if you've recently replaced them with cheap ones, get some LR ones. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks Bodsy - that's really interesting as I noticed a brake light was out last night - will try that first! - thanks for your help.

If the gear selector is not working as well I would check out the above link. You'll probably find that HDC is not working as well. I'm assuming it's a manual
