Just got back from a long weekend in Vegas - Labor Day holiday (sorry for the American spelling, but that's what it's called...).
Drove down Saturday morning, it's about 430 miles from here. We averages 18.2mpg. Oh for a diesel!

Went to Madame Tussauds on Sunday - kids have been nagging to go for ages. Some of the waxworks were actually pretty good, some were a bit lame. Surprised the ones on display outside did not melt though:
Hottest I've known in the US so far, it was brutal. I reckon that translates to 44C.

I really wanted to do the Mojave trail last year but was told not to do it on our own (one vehicle single Defender)
Please tell me if this can be done solo and what kind of mods/equipements are required with say a LR4 or if it can be done in an Evoque (I will be back early November... l=Oo\________/oO=l l:Ool======loO:l

Hi, It was just a quick excursion off road from the freeway on the way home - really do not know about the Mojave trail, but I would say if you were on your own a satellite phone would be a must as cell coverage is very spotty if you have any issues...
