Wow - that's cheap.
I paid 105 euros for one a few weeks ago. Great bit of kit and once the bike is mounted it is held very securely, but not entirely convinced by the locking system.
Cue shameless and self-gratifying Stumpjumper photo

You'll notice that I swapped mine over to use it on the left-hand side of the D3, rather than the right-hand side as standard - it's easy enough to unbolt the plates and swap them around - about 5 minutes work 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Do you mean the locking system that holds from the frame ?
What speed is safe with a roof box and bike on top ?

I just mean that I don't think it would dissuade the "practiced" thief from having your bike (or even the bike+rack) away if they wanted it.
The locking system (carrier-roof bar) only locks on one of the three fixing points (i.e. one of the front ones). The centre arm has a lock, but I seriously doubt that it would take more than a gentle levering with a crow-bar to open it.
I wouldn't worry too much about leaving the bike on the roof for 5-10 minutes in a populated area whilst I nipped into the shops, but no way would I leave it parked up all day in a secluded area.
As far as speeds go, I don't think there is a problem - certainly not within legal limits. I've accidentally creeped over 120km/h a couple of times with both the box and the bike fitted and not had a problem.
Saying this, I usually put a small strap around the carrier support and the diagonal tube to make "doubly sure" that it isn't going to go anywhere.2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
The only place it will get left all day is in the Disneyland Paris car park with the roof box and atera strada on the back so I think I'll invest in some extra chains etc.
The french motorways are 130km/h - do you think this is too fast ?

No
But as I mentioned, if I'm going to be going fairly fast, I use a strap to tighten around the diagonal and the support bar.....just in case 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
