Keep your cool, WD seem fair, in the circumstances one would hope they would do the right thing. I did read every word of their policy so I understood where I stand, that included getting immediate cover when my manufacturer warranty runs out.

Good luck!

Be careful as 2008MY will be EU4 emissions and there were quite a few engine changes between the two. I think Disco Mikey put a post up with the differences somewhere?

There are differences between them.

The basic engine is the same i.e. block and heads etc, but everything that bolts onto the engine is different.
Injectors, fuel lines, HPFP, engine wiring loom, cooling system, EGR's, crankcase breather system etc...

Alternator, starter + turbo are the same IIRC Thumbs Up

Drop me a PM if you need any advice. Swapped a few engines now Thumbs Up

MMMM

Well at the moment im just looking at worst case scenarios, generally because whenever i get a car serviced the worsed possible outcome generally happens to me... and i mean every time. as follows:

1st bmw 325D bmw sevenoaks Coupe m sport, BMW damaged the rear alignment of the car whislt in there care nearly causing a massive accident
2nd bmw 330d M bmw crawley put half the amount of oil they were supposed to in the car on a service, damaging the engine!!!!!!!!
3rd Bmw 330d M Bmw Tonbridge a car knocked my wing mirror off whilst parked in there service bay, then they said it was already like it!!
4th Landrover engine blows up 3 days after service...

Thats in 4 years of motoring, just call me lucky or is that no one in a dealership gives a flying Censored

Bearing my unlucky disposition in mind whats the cheapest best engine for it?
