Took the Plunge !
SWMBO and I retired a year ago and after a lot of anguishing and soul searching, last week we finally ordered an MY2012 D4. We decided we might as well enjoy ourselves now rather than spending it on care home fees later! The car will be used mostly for UK touring and longer trips (with and without our tin tent).

The dealer says it will arrive end Oct/beginning November - just can't wait.
We test drove a number of alternative vehicles before making the decision: Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mecedes ML350, Freelander 2, but the Disco won. Although there's just the two of us now we had got used to the amount of space in our current car - we will be trading in our much loved Seat Alhambra.
I only discovered this forum just recently, but it seems to be the best one - I like how it is organised (easy to find D4 only posts), and the members seem very helpful.

Welcome and enjoy Like you we are also making the most of retirement and have recently 'upgraded' to a D4, fabulous car and tows our 1700 KG van as if it was not there.
