Quaddro Technologies off-road Scissor jack availability?

Have any of you guys in South Africa come across the Quaddro Technologies off-road scissor jack?

http://www.quaddrotech.com/prod_app_4x4.html

http://4x4jack.com/applications.html?isOn=3 (click on the off-road & Land Rover links)

If so, is it available there, and how much is it?

I have not been able to find any retailers online, just the info on the above links. I tried the 'contact' but have not had a response.

The jack looks ideal for my needs and would double up to use on the horse trailer too.

Just need to get my hands on one!!

Cheers,

Rich

Any news on these jacks? I suspect there could be a lot of interest in these given the poor performance of the standard OEM jacks and the general dearth of sensible alternatives.

Here is the some of the response received from Colin:-

Quote:
Thank you for the inquiry on the Quaddro Scissor jack product.

We have been doing extensive testing/development in South Africa and the USA over the last couple of years since the first product was launched in 2007.

The current Quaddro website will also be updated with the latest new product in the near future with complete information of distribution and approved suppliers detail.

Having done these ongoing testing we made some design improvements, refer to the attached photo's, and we are also currently in the process of completing an upgraded design for Military applications.

These final improvements should be completed and signed off by end of 2011 after which full production and marketing of the Quaddro products will commence to the 4x4 off-road industry.

Keep in touch and forward your LR forum details to us so that we can follow the response from the LR off-road community.

As seen in the attached photo's the lifting/recovery of a LR vehicle is completed without any problem.

We look forward to hear back from the LR off-road community.

Looks like we will still have a bit of a wait until they will be available.... Big Cry

Nice piece of kit though, just what I need. Thumbs Up

Looks an impressive peice of kit. How low can it go? It can go plenty high enough with the extender version anyway.

Couldn't find prices anywhere....

Well in the initial communication they were supposed to be in full production by the end of 2010. Now the final improvements should be completed and signed of by end 2011.
Looks like a great idea. Is it real, though?

@Baben,

Somebody has gone to an awful lot of effort with all the photo's & video's if it is a spoof..... Confused

I understand the 4500lb jack has been modified with a gearbox to reduce the jacking load in a similar way to the 9000lb model

At least they seem to be making sure the jack is 'right' before release not just rushed out to make a money as soon as possible.

Have you not heard anything on the S.A. grapevine as they are based in your part of the World?

Maybe I have a jaded perspective when it comes to new products, having been thru development of some fairly advanced electronic stuff for the mobile networks (which took 1 year by the way, not 3, complete with regulator approval, and approval by a large American factory) which is where I learnt to under-promise and try to over-deliver.

Nowadays I have the attitude that new products are like breasts - if I can touch them, then they are real Smile

Maybe Colin would like to become a commercial member on this forum and start creating some excitement ahead of the pending release ? I for one would love to evaluate the product, having skinned my knuckles more than once on the crap standard jack. For that to happen we need a product though
