I live just off the M9 near to Stirling (16 miles west along the A811 on the road to Loch Lomond).
Heres a tip...... do not take the M8 into Glasgow but stay on the M73/M74 up to Stirling and come off at J10 on the M9 and take the A84 through Callander/ Crianlarich to Ft William rather than taking the M8 through Glasgow and then the A82 up Loch Lomondside. The A84 is just as attractive a route and maybe a little bit slower but you miss out on all the traffic of Glasgow. When you come passed Cumbernauld, on the left just off the dual cariageway section, there is a Shell filling station which is usually 2-3p a litre cheaper than anywhere else around too so it's a good place to fill up with go-juice, otherwise come up to Striling and come off at J10 and take the local roads back toward the town and there is a Sainsbury supermarket with filling station about a mile from the m'way. There is also a MacDonalds on the site if you have kids to fill-up too! Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300

Just back from Stirling and there was a massive tailback at J10 (I drive over the Mway on a flyover on my route to town) hope it has cleared by tomorrow for you! Watch out for white and silver D3's and FFRR's on the m'way in central scotland. The fuz here run several supercharged RR's and V8 D3's in white and silver with the usual battenburg chequers Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300
