It's because HP are ditching the Touchpad (already ) and other hardware.

HP are pulling out of the PC market
however they just purchased a UK software company for 7bn??
the guessing at work is that HP will still do severs for BIG corporates but maybe looking towards cloud processing ?
edit: Oh and it was HP online site that crashed as they wasnt prepared for the amount of interest as the decision to sell was only given at a dinner held at the CEO house 3 days before Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

Apparently they will be supported until the end of the year then gone. I have one sitting on my desk still in the box - looks like it's going to remain in the box !!
The autonomy setup purchased in the UK fits with the cloud based analytics HP already has in it's portfolio, it would appear HP are shaping themselves up similar to IBM.
For £89 the touch pad is a lot of kit for not a lot of money........

I missed the last one in Staples this am. No evidence of Expansys clearing them and only a small price drop on Amazon.
