2012 MY Tax
I reallt dont understand the new 2012 MY tax, it looks like its just 4 co2's away from the lower tax bracket. Which to me sounds like they were aiming for it to be in line with VW and Jeep - but perhaps messed up? Anyone know?

I was wondering this too. It's time to think about replacing my 2005 D3 and I was probably going to order a new D4 for next Spring. Question is will the 2013MY be in the lower car tax bracket? It makes a big difference over 6,7 years of ownership.
Personally I would have been happy not to have had the power boost with 2012MY if it had taken it to the lower car tax bracket.
Same problem over here in Ireland - just a few g/km over the top bracket. At least we're getting the new 5 seat Commercial Crew Cab version which attracts a lower rate....

2013 MY will probably have an increase in price, so it will make no difference

Doubt it. It's a tax loophole in Ireland at the present time. Unless you can get HMRC to agree that a 5 seat D4 with the dog guard and rearmost side windows covered over is a commercial vehicle....... I suppose if Land Rover get enough enquiries for one to be made available they might go for it......
