Yep - dead easy. Just move the black bit, unplug the plug and move it towards the other bit.
Sorry but I think you'll need to be a bit more specific. Which sensor/sender unit do you mean?

Sorry it's the fuel sender unit, gauge is stuck at empty with a full tank, it has been sticking before then would catch up with itself, but seems to have completely failed now. Is it a job I can do on my driveway or will I need a ramp?
PS I am a mechanic

You can drop the tank at home. I just run the tank side up on a pair of drive on car ramps, one front ,one rear, and make sure the tank is run right down on fuel (yes i know you have no gauge) as this makes the tank light enough to handle on your own. You can just undo the jubilee pipe on the filler neck lower joint and empty into a clean bucket if you have miss read your contents. You will get a slight spill down your arm but nothing major if you are a tidy worker!

Hi lurchy4,
As the D3 has two fuel senders and the fault is intermittent, I suspect that the fault is more likely to be in connectors/wiring.

Just dropped my 11MY D4 in to have the senders replaced - its a 2 day job [ if you know what you are doing and have the necessary LR tools ]
This is a warranty job.
Speed was shown as 5 - 7 km/hr too low, distance to empty was way out.
Neither are a good look on a 1000 km run with speed cameras along the route. +======

Correction
2 days was what I was quoted.
under pressure, and as they had the parts, actual time spent would have been around 4 hours -including emptying the fuel tank.
Parts needed included float-front, float-rear, gasket, hose clip, fuel tank dust cover. +======
