Reading the official tech specs of the D4 reveals that there is still the option of the 211PS TDV6 engine "for some European markets" giving 36.9mpg extra urban and 224g/km emissions.
Thing is, that's a lower road tax band in the UK and ROI, and a lower VRT band in the ROI too!

If committing to a new motor I would have to weigh it all up
One of the biggest attractions for me is the 256bhp output of the 2012 motor
And one of the biggest turn offs is the Irish road tax! 2007 D3 HSE Artic Frost Silverish

Well at least we are getting the new 5 seater Commercial Crew Cab version here in Ireland, with the SDV6 - it can be taxed either commercially or privately based on engine size not emissions - because it is a European N1 commercial vehicle!
That's road tax of €288 or €1,204 (I think).... a significant saving on the full road tax of €2,100!!!!

Not sure, as the LR website still hasn't been updated. There certainly was with the 2011MY....in the UK.

Where can I find that info Harry? Have a copy or is it online?
Bill Wright Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
At an Evoque this weekend I spoke to the a sales guy from the local dealer and asked him about the 2012 D4 price. He claimed that it was almost the same as for MY2011 partly due to a lower 1st year road tax - so I guess you are on to something.

My understanding is that there is a lower powered commercial with 224g/km but not available on non-commercial. Such a missed opportunity for lr not to offer the gs with less power and lower co2
