FS: Discovery 4 Xenon Headlamps- SOLD
Pair of Xenon headlamps for a Discovery 4. These are the standard Xenon lights fitted with the LED signature lights They won't fit a Discovery 3 unless you want to change front wings, grille and bumper as well !
They can be easily fitted to any Discovery 4, GS or XS, but will then need to be 'enabled' (Bell Autos did mine originally). I am buying a MY12 D4 and unfortunately as yet there are no software mods to make them work on my new car hence the reason for moving them on.
Asking price £595.00. Now reduced to £495.00

Can you tell me where that information came from. I was told that they are transferable.
If they're not, I'm in the same dilemma but with a twist.

I spoke to Pete at Bell Autos and he advised me that so far he has not 'read' the MY12 software hence cannot perform the usual trickery at the moment. He thinks that at some point in the future he will get it sorted, just a matter of time. Do you know anything different to this ?

If you can wait a week, I'll be able to tell you if they are a straight swap. I pick up my new MY12 on Friday and will fit (or try to on Saturday).

Bill
If the MY2012 is the same as the MY2010 was then they will fit mechaniclly and the side lights will work but the dipped beam/xenon will come on and go off as the BCU sees the current load as an electrical fault and turns the power to them off by switching an internal FET/Switch in the BCU.

I will be interested to know what happens, may be it will be like the D3 and will be interchangeable without any modifications - please let me know. Where did you hear that it is a straight swap between halogen and xenon ?

Is there likely to be a workaround for this? Will do any damage if I try plug and play?

Bill you can try them with no danger of a problem, If they dont work you will see a second or two of light before they go out which i strongly suspect will happen.
The car will then need switching off and back on before the FET in the BCU will reset its self after a "failure"

Hi I have hse disco 3 with adaptive headlights, will I get away with fitting standard xenon and just loose the adaptive side or will I need to fit an adaptive set to suit wiring and software set up ? As about to convert front end and require headlights .
Thanks

You can fit just xenons but you will need to have the adaptive lights turned off to kill the warning light you will get when the car does not see the adaptive light you removed.

DOes anyone know the answer to this?
Can Xenons be retro-fitted to a MY12? If they don't work initially, will it be possible to change the software settings to enable them?D4 XS MY12 Galway

They fit mechanically and the LED fairy lights work but as soon as the main light is switched on the units fail . An ignition re-start gets it back to normal but the fault is consistent. I replaced the factory fitted halogens.
As an aside - for those who want the LED's, there is a halogen version with LED Fairy LIghts that will fit MY11 and onwards. There's not word on how far "onwards" goes though. Does that cover MY12?
