would be cheaper to get a mate to drive it to service. You can get insured on a daily rate for a lot less than hiring a trailer. OR if you speak with the garage, for an additional fee, they may come and collect for you.

surely it would be cheaper to get a taxi back, then drive the other car in or ask the garage, afterall its in their interest to assist
BTW have yer checked your insurance to see if yer covered for the trailer/towing a vehicle?

Thanks Bodsy/Character,
Problem is i have no one else available at the time and the garage is a 2 hour drive away so taxi would def be out the question.
I have SWMBO's freelander in on the Monday and mine on the Tuesday, was going to trailer hers up and leave the trailer there, then swap cars on Tue then bring hers back on the trailer late Tue or wed,
there does not seem to be many places that hire car trailers in Scotland and the ones that do were asking £100 a day
I will figure something out.

Don't they do a loan car? Or, hire a car from near the dealer's for 24 hours.
Drive there in the Freelander.
Swap into the hire car to drive home.
Drive back the next day in your Disco, home in the Freelander.
Drive back in the hire car.
Home in the Disco.
Or, if the Freelander is manual and this is going to happen lots, invest £150 in an A-frame and tow it there and back.
Even better - as above, but get them to lend you a nice, new D4 for a trial!D4 XS MY12 Galway

You can buy an A-Frame on eBay for about this price. Then have a permanent solution to your problem!D4 XS MY12 Galway
