Transmission Fault Reduced Traction
Well this is finally my first post after reading and learning lots from this site, just a shame its not a positive thing.
Was driving home tonight along the M3 and realised i had a warning reading"Transmission Fault Reduced Traction" got home turned the car on and off a couple of times and it was still giving the warning.
It has been a couple of hours and i have just been back outside and now it isnt showing the warning.
So what should i do ? do i just ignore it ? or should i get it checked out?
I dont want to ignore it and then it turns out the problem is a lot worse than it could have been if i get it checked out or should i just trust the car and believe everything is ok.
Thanks

Only seen this once ... on a LR Experience vehicle, which had problems with the e-diff. Does yours have the rear locking diff fitted???
You'll need a diagnostic check to get the definitive answer though - try contacting 10ForCash via e-mail.Regards,

I have the same problem on my TDI V6 S.
Did you managed to find a solution and do you know what caused the error?
Thanks

Hi
I have the same message on my Disco 3 HSE. Did you manage to solve the problem?
Me too. Was after removing and replacing the powerfold mirror fuse and never happened again?

Hello,
This is my first post, basically because every fault I have ever had, I have been able to find a fix/solution on this forum. However for this one I have tried everything, incl battery, brake pedal switch, lights, hard reset etc.
Did anyone ever find the problem/solution for this. My '05 SE popped up with the same error couple day s ago, and it has not disapeared. However, I am still able to drive normally, after a couple flicks of the key. Every time with out fail, first turn of the key brings up "Transmission Fault, stop safely" followed by amber suspension and HDC lights, and if I leave the key in position II - lowering of suspension to access height. If turn the key off and on - before the suspension drops - I get the same error as above. Then I swing the key a third time, I get "transmission fault, Traction reduced" and no lights, and no lowering of suspension, start vehicle, and drive normally. I have to do this procedure every time, without fail. I will attempt to go to the dealers on Monday, not that they will have any better idea of how to fix the problem.
FWIW, I did have my gearbox flushed at the dealers about 2 weeks ago (to get rid of a shudder), admittedly I am leaning towards the fact it has something to do with this, although I have done over 2000 kms since then.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

FYI
Went to the dealers, and came up with Rear Diff Actuator stuck. Tried the software update and calibration to no avail. So it looks like I will be needing to replace or repair the actuator.
Has any one done any repairs to the actuator motor, and are then tutorials on the easiest way to remove it.
I will post a new topic for this request, as I cant seem to find any info in the search.
Thanks

Been there...
And it was a bad battery. It is hard to believe but it's true. Now everything is working as it is supposed to work on D3.
