Discovery 3 Roof Rails and bars |
|
I'm after a set of roof rails and bars, and have come across these :

Bit tentative about this, but would appreciate it if anyone has any experience. There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.

They can't be original LR at £210, but they don't look too bad. At least there's a return policy if they arrive and are totally cr@p!
I notice the price for buying both together is a lot cheaper than purchasing individually too -
£145 (inc post) for the rails - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Discovery-3-4-Ro..._517wt_952
£150 (inc post) for the (silver) cross bars - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Discovery-3-4-Ro..._825wt_905
Might be worth a punt! 2006 D3 S (I use it when I can prise the keys off the wife!)
2009 Astra CDTi SXi ecoflex (I use this when I can't!)

From that, I take it you've got some experience with these. Are they any good, and how do they rate to the OEM versions ? There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.

I've not seen them in the flesh yet but if the quality is the same as the other ones I sell they're very similar to the OEM ones The End

I have one set of silver (hardly used) roof bars and 1 set of brand new (in box) black roof bars.
Can post at cost if anyone is interested.

Slimer - I'm very tempted with the rail and bar package, but quick question -
Do the cross bars have the t-track slots? I can see from your pictures that they seem to have the same style cover strip as OEM.
I'm just wondering if these adaptors would fit: http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbproduct...ds=tu697-1
In a previous post, Robbie says those work great on the OEM ones, ( http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic3510-15.html ) so I presume they'd be ok for your non OEM's too, but only if they have the same size track? 2006 D3 S (I use it when I can prise the keys off the wife!)
2009 Astra CDTi SXi ecoflex (I use this when I can't!)

@big_si, yes they have the slots like the OEM ones, can't comment on the adaptors but if they fit the OEM bars they should fit these too
@Curly, no I don't have any extended roof rails, think they're OEM only currently The End
