New D4 XS ordered for March
Took the plunge and decided to upgrade D3 SE for anew one.
Ordered Siberian Silver XS on impulse after deciding on Nara Bronze. The silver in the show room looked the dogs do-da's .
Having alpacca electric seats with straightgrain walnut.
Also added reverse camera and towbar.
I can alter spec up to about 15th Jan dealer informs me, so anything else I should add?
Its a shame they don't have an SE spec now as that was perfect for me. Can't run to a HSE so buy an XS and reach for our cheque books on the expensive extras!
Really looking forward to getting hold of D4 it will be my 5th Disco and they just keep getting better!

After much deliberation and study on here I went for active rear diff, xenons and full-size spare... And am now praying like mad that someone can get the remote heater mod to work on the MY12 D4

We went for vision assist pack on our MY12 XS and really happy with it. The adaptive xenons are great and the surround cameras are useful too - tight parking spaces, lining up the wife's horsebox etc. Also, the High Beam Assist seems to work very well, although I know others have found it to be patchy.
The dealer told us not to bother with the full size spare and just to call LRA if we got a puncture(!)
I also am waiting with baited breath for Pete at BAS to confirm that he can activate the timed climate for me.....he's promised to post on the forum when he's ready, so form an orderly queue !

xenon headlights.
electric seats and armrests
keyless entry.
privacy glass
keyless entry is not a gimmick, it is one of those items that you cannot appreciate until you have it. I missed out on the keyless entry and xenons and totally regret it.

Ok I might weaken on the xenons at £700 but vision assist and keyless may be a bridge too far! aAt this rate I may as well gone for HSE
I have privacy glass on my D3 SE and it looks great but the kids don't like the impaired view out the side windows!

Not sure if the MY12 has the reversing camera as standard now. If not that's a real essential for both usefulness and fun value.
Xenons too.

Just a quick spec question if I pushed the boat out and went for the vision assist pack do I still need the reverse camera at £360 that I have already added ?
If not then the vision assist pack looks quite good value active xenons plus high beam assist and lots of cameras !
A gadget lovers dream.

Simo, I just recently trook delivery of my 9th Discovery, had them since the D1 was launched and as you say, they just get better and better.
My last was a D3 XS and I was hoping to get a D4 XS, howver when I was looking (in November) there werent many/any XS around and I'd have to wait for Feb/March delivery.
As the D3 was due a service, MOT, tyres and probably front/rear bushes, I wanted to sell before December.
I found an HSE at Guy Salmon in Sheffield, of exacly the spec I wanted and due to the deal, was only marginally more cost than the XS with the bits I wanted (Xenons, metallic), when I took into account lower trade-in value (approx £320/month based on my calcs of depreciation). It also came with Privacy Glass, Full Size Spare and all the extra HSE bits (most of which I didnt want, but rather like now - keyless entry, reverse camera, voice control ...)
Story is, build a spreadsheet and model ALL the costs and include depreciation over time and additional costs of keeping current motor and the price on a new car in stock, and you could surprise yourself..!
I did..
cheers

It's nearly here!
Called the dealer today to add xenons/ vision assist and they told me its too late as its already built!
I don't want it until march 1st.
When I ordered I was told that if I didn't order by Friday I would not get a new car for march, what a turn around in delivery times.
Are they all arriving early? Beware this sales trick if you are thinking of ordering a new D4. Take your time get the spec you want at the right price.
Still can't wait to get hold of the beast though.
I have sold my D3 privately for Feb. should I take 4 early and miss out on 12 plate?

No.
It's torture but I'll feel so much better.
Waiting on Aintree Green and most all the bits you can get on HSE without having to entertain kids or blast Pink Floyd into the back of next week.
Salivating...
actually touched some Extended Rails in Leicester's Sturgess dealership the other day ...
