Getting Acquainted
Picked up my my new HSE just over two weeks ago. Used it the next day for a 220 mile round trip for my annual medical - which I even managed to pass. Delighted to see 34.5mpg on the computer with dexterous use of a delicate size 12. That's dropped down to 29 on local journeys.
I became a little concerned about the lack of courtesy seat lowering and sterring wheel lifting on exiting the car until I realised that I have the seat in the lowest position and the wheel at it's highest or I can't see the dials. Felt a little foolish over that.
Had the choice of an Aintree Green/Almond or IndusSilver/Ebony. Both standard HSEs. Selected the Indus Silver in the interests of ease of upkeep, but I think the green one would have looked better. The household has two other dark metallics that need looking after.
Had the windows tinted and towing electrics fitted before collection. Loving my first land rover product and hoping that reliability matches my initial impressions of quality. I have no tolerance at all for cars that don't work.

Only kidding. And very jealous of the D4. I'm sure it will run perfect and such a good car little niggles don't annoy as much as the probably should or could with other brands

You will certainly be happy with the new D4. I recently picked up my Fuji White SE and have done 2500KM so far.
I would have more on it but I am away at work for the moment.
I have used the power as necessary and so far have an average of about 30MPG with a mixture of freeway and mountain roads.
I am planning to go outback in a couple of months and expect to do about 14000KM. Hopefully there will be no issues for me too.

Thanks guys.
Looking forward to getting to know the beastie.
Mrs Bewildered drove it for the first time today while I polished up her car. Much hand wringing until she came home but no problems. Her car is actually longer & wider than the Disco.
Plane Fixer, what do you work on? I'm a skipper on the A320 series.
