Fob battery causing intermittent limp mode?

Hi Folks,

I've had a few issues over the years with the usual electrical system throwing a dash full of errors up, and when turn off and back on all appears normal.

I reduced this greatly when I replaced the YAW SENSOR as there was a hard latched code, used an 2nd hand ebay one and truck was then much better to drive with less instances of powering off mid drive.

Recently you may have see my other threads about a leak off pipe/fuel issue where i had misfires sporadically.

I was wondering if any of this could be connected to the key fob battery where the soldering of the contact corrodes. It got quite bad as i needed to bang the key against the tyre to unlock the truck some mornings. I have now replaced the battery myself which is a fairly straight forward job and fingers crossed haven't heard the bing bong once since job was done.

I'm thinking the corroded pin on battery and disconnect momentarily immobilises some of the electrics? Can this be so?

I'm sure this is a wild card but if anyone with greater knowledge could shed any light on this i'd be greatful if you could join up the dots.

Doubt it.

The key should be fail safe. Immobiliser code checked on engine start and that's it.
You don't want the engine shutting down as you travel along the motorway, just because the wireless signal between the key and car has been lost (for example)

Have you a remote pre-heater fittted?- I had a similar situation where the remote heater button kept being accidentally pressed, in summer it switched the fans on, if this happened it ran the battery down and threw faults on start up. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

No I haven't got remote heater from fob.

Just trying to piece the puzzle together ha ha cheers
