Carplay on a base Disco3 S
Hi
What would be your (cheap ) recommendation to get a screen with CarPlay linked to the audio system on very very base 2005 disco 3 s?

Any one of the all in one Carplay/AA head units that just need an Aux In port on the vehicle audio system. Generally avoid the FM transmitter but some people complain of low audio levels on the aux in of the LR unit.

Basic equipment does not have an auxiliary port, you will have to intervene directly on the AUX connection cables on the back of the radio.

I'll do just that.
Now I just need to find one that fits good in the top area.
I also intend to wire a reverse camera. I wonder how I'll run the cable

I think those units look cheap, i'd prefer the type that fits in place of the factory screen.
I replaced mine 5 years and i would have fitted one if they were available then.

I had the Carpuride and it worked very well without incidents and it was a good quality component, easy to attach in the hole of the original screen.
