K&N Filter - Model 33-2333 - CANCELED |
|
Hi all;
Sometime ago we were all talking about bying the K&N and at the end we didn't go ahead, since the last SE meeting i've been meaning to get this going again, so here it is.
I have managed to track down 20 K&N Air filters Part Number: 33 - 2333 which is suited for the Disco 3 2.7 Diesel Engine.
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=33-2333
The price is: £32.75 + 2.75 P&P
I'll pay the whole lot via Paypal and i would like to get paid via paypal too.
Thanks

I was told to stay away from any sort of performance filter if you are going to be doing any form of offroad work , as the perfomance increased is gained by filtering to a lesser degree

Wow, what did he say?? ....not that I support K&Ns, I don't think the filtration performance is good enough, even for on-road use IMHO. Cheers

Pretty much what you mentioned - performance is gained by more airflow - which is gained by filtering less . OK for a race track - but not for offroad use

Thanks Martin for fixing the post.
Since I am a Disco3 road-user most of the times, K&N fits my profile, but If I was off-roading I would use the normal filter and when on-road for better performance/fuel economy I would use the K&N.
I am trying to extend my mlies/galon ratio and talking to some chaps back at the SE meeting last week, they seem pretty happy with the improvement on thei D3 performance with K&N.
thanks

Lucio,
Got a K&N fitted now and having done 6K miles since mid June can tell it makes a difference - or it could be psycho - pedantic. It certainly seems to make a difference to overall driveability and economy.
Also ran one from day one in my 300TDI Disco and without all the electric gizmos controlling the D3, I noticed a significant improvement.
IMHO go for it - certainly on road and if you go and play in the dust, (dust in autumn / winter in the UK ?????)change to a paper one.

Stock markets worldwide were gripped by fear as London's FTSE 100 Index endured its worst week since the Black Monday crash of 1987.
