MPG with Pirelli ATR experiences please
So, I have a brand new set of Scorpion ATR ( 18"s) on a manual Disco. Previously with standard fit Zero's the car would indicate between 28 and 31 mpg. Now its consistently indicating 25-28 mpg. I have just had a full main dealer service. Anyone else noticed this much drop off? I have seen quite a few posts indicating no change on mpg, so I am a bit confused. I would perhaps expect a small change but this seems too much. Opinions welcome. EGR etc are all fine.

No noticeable difference at all in mpg or noise between ATR's and Zero's/Wrangler HP's.
Maybe check that the tyre pressures are correct, using a calibrated gauge not petrol station pump etc. Could be that they're too low.

You're not comparing summer with winter mpg? I regularly see 10% drop in mpg with the onset of winter. Sitting at 75mph I get 25mpg on ATRs in the winter & 28mpg in the summer. Cruising at 60mph summer = 31mpg, winter = 28mpg. Similar to what I was getting on 17" Contis. All figs actual, not the over optimistic trip comp.

Tyres were set to standard at the service last week, the comment on winter versus summer is a good point tho! I don't mind a bit of a drop given the doubling of tyre life but thought this was a lot

That's a valid point about the temp. and don't forget winter diesel doesn't help either.
You may have had the tyre pressure set at the last service, but I'd still check them with a calibrated gauge or one that you know to be accurate. Just a few psi too low would make a difference.
I've done lots of miles on both Zero's and ATR's, never noticed any drop in mpg.

I always run about 1 psi more with ATRs than standard (following other threads on here) and never noticed any drop. Remember the FBH will use fuel in winter if its cold and you do an actual calculation.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Yeah, I like 34 Front and 38 Rear as an everday setting. I suppose that could very slightly increase mpg over the standard LR 33 F 36 R.

I reckon they were 2-3mpg worse on the motorway and not much different about town but then they last twice as long as Scorpoin Zero's which buys you a lot of diesel! I reckon over 15,000 miles the ATRs work out cheaper and they don't get torn to shreds if you go offroad
