I'm after some advice on the warranty I have.
EML came on and after Guy Salmon, Manchester checked it out 1 x EGR was goosed they advised that the two should be replaced. They sent all the bumf to Warranty Direct who wanted pictures of the valve and then called me stating I won't be covered as it was a carbon build up..
Now when buying the warranty I had a long chat with them about common faults, one being EGR valves...."Yes Sir fully covered"
So a bit of shock getting knocked back.
Is it worth contacting their customer services and having a good go, any ammo I can fire at them...
So frustrated...
i must say Matt at Guy Salmon has been spot on and got the price down for replacing the two. Which I will have to pay for in the morning...
Over £600 on a warranty that is useless.....
Your thoughts..
Regards.

Have you got proof of what they said (if not, kick yourself at this point - others please note)?
If not, then go back to the date you took out the policy or discussed it with them and try to get the recordings from them. May as well get ready for a fight.
I would also like to know why they think carbon build up is not a reason to pay up. After all, it's not negligence on your part. It's a mechanical failure.
You could also try small claims, but I think that since they record all calls, your best bet would be to get them to review their tapes and take it from there. PAGODA

In my experience with WD unless it specifically states EGR valves are covered you have no chance.
I had an inlet manifold fail on a Merc and they would not pay up, although it stated the engine was covered it did not say in the policy that the inlet manifold was .- how can you have an engine without a inlet manifold?
WD waste of space in IMHO, may as well insure yourself. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Do they have a public figure associated with them, with warranty wise I e mailed Quentin Wilson direct and had the MD on the phone within 2 hours, that was after weeks of chasing the NO department who really need to expand their vocabulary to include Yes. Otherwise just go straight to the top is my suggestion. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Its strange how you managed to get carbon build up in an EGR valve though Oh wait, it might have something to do with red hot exhaust gases passing through them

Cheers again you lot...
Picked up my beloved this afternoon after running around most of the week in a new mini, one of the large ones...
Nice enough drive but I kept getting distracted by the massively stupid speedo and the daft switches that aren't designed for builders hands.
I seemed to get more than my fair share of smiles from male drivers, started getting a bit of a complex and asked the better half if I looked like a middle aged gay man..."You do no matter what you drive' was her sarcastic reply...
It ended up costing me £447:00 for the two EGR's to be replace and a good valet...
AS for Warranty Direct, I am going to dedicate all next week in the office to their customer relations dept. Credit search off the firm we use and get the hierarchy's contacts...
