track rod failure on d3
Has anybody had a track rod end come off their d3? yesterday, my nearside track rod pulled straight out of the thread. Luckily I was going slow and to their credit landrover assist replaced both parts in the day. bit unnerving as i'm now listening to every knock, thinking its going again.
Hi Clive & welcome....not come across this one one here before.. which end pulled out (inner or outer) as the rod is a replaceable unit (inner joint can wear causing wheel wobble)
I am thinking it may have been replaced & put back correctly if it was inner end. Never known an outer to come out . However , you may have spotted on the forum that most issues have been hit at some time!! Cheers Ian

no. the thread showed signs of water ingress and the lock nut was seized solid. simply pulled the track rod clean out of the thread. need wheels aligning now. better not charge me
