Sorry forgot to say "awesome looking"!, thanks for tip on cooper tyres though. I should of been more specific -

1. what they like when the tough gets going?
2. what they like for road noise?
3. what they like for longevity?

I ran a set of 17" S/T's (no Maxx) for about two years / 20000 miles barely making a dent on them - were a tad whiny on the road - no worse than MTR's - had very interesting wet road characteristics too Wink

I have a set of Cooper STs for the winter. To answer your questions :

1 Excellent in mud . Pretty good in loose snow but like any compromise not that good in hard packed on road snow.

2 A bit noisy but nothing too bad. MPG suffers a bit too.

3 Very good . I have done 17,000 on them so far and poss around half way.

I am overall very pleased with them - got them from site sponsor AJS at a very good price too.

Hi,

I have been running the ST Maxx on my defender over the winter both on the road and off road and they are an excellent tyre. Thinking of chopping the defender in for another D3 so glad to see that tyre is going to be an option for me if i do.

Cheers,

David.
