Need insurance quotes NOW!! |
|
Insurance expires soon and the LR renewal is way too high.
I'm just about to sit down and phone around for best quote, so just looking for some input as to who's best.
Already got Admiral, Zurich, Santander & LV on my list from other threads.
Any other calls I should be making

Privilege for me. This year I have a new Disco and the premium went down to £319 including legal cover (£26.00). No requirement for tracker. Winter wheels needs a phone call.

It's way too much DG - £1k [business policy]
They did ask me if I was taking them up on their quote.
I said I'd be shopping around.
They said to get back to them with my best quote and they would see what they would do.
Unfortunately they're the last people I'd call, if they can get me a better price then, they should give it to me now.
I'll give the business to the one that gives me the best quote up front.
So far got AXA at £453 but that's an internet based quote.
Going to give them a call and thrash out some detail to make sure they've got all the facts.
Also got my insurance broker 'on the job' ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I've currently got Privilege on £478 - inc. business use, but only myself and spouse. Be careful though as they are part of Direct Line and some of their cover is a 'no charge gift' (like windscreens) so you can't insist on OEM parts.

I went onto Compare the Meerkat, and got the cheapest quote. It was Swiftcover. I then phoned them up and got insured for about £480 (can't remember exact figure) Original NFU quote was 100's more.
I also got a cuddly Meerkat for Lola to rip to shreds

Most of mine have been close to £700, 40 odd yr old, 9yrs + protected no claims, no points etc etc. I think the post code is the thing that's letting it down ! All them dodgy insurance claims, someones got to pay for em !!
Strangely Aviva who have just given me 7 days free insurance from my dealer, quoted me £698, My best quote was with 'Quote me happy' and £586 ............ underwritten by, yes you've guessed it Aviva ?!

That's it ..... totaly facked off.
Had so many rejections because of the sump plate.
So went back to Admiral and paid in full.
Also entered into their multi car policy and got a discount.
So overall all my bits [ie sump plate, swapping of wheels etc] are covered.
Total cost of £454 ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Did you go to Admiral direct, online or via a comparison site?
I noticed that their list of modifications and 'modification cover' is all extra online, but some comparison site quotes add them in differently.

Initial quote through comparison web site, then followed up with a phone call direct to them to discuss.
Quoted price maintained after discussing requirements. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
