Sankey trailer mark 2 or 3 ?
Hi,
Does anyone out there know how to tell what mark a Sankey trailer is?
I've bought one recently & going to restore/rebuild it; seen all these bits on eBay that may be suitable depending on it's actual mark.
Thanks
I would look at the information on the plate on the draw bar.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.
Some of the info plates are painted over or missing. Mine was painted over, but with care I scraped it off to get the info hidden underneath

Indeed. But both scraping and paint stripper can damage the plate. However, old brake fluid also removes paint and is less aggressive.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. Sankeys were made by several different companies. Early ones, mark 2 for example, were narrow cargo trailers which had overrun brakes and drum brakes. Later ones, some made by wolf and designated mark 3 and mark 4 were wide track trailers with the same wheel width as a landrover, had disk brakes, shock absorbers, anti-roll bars, leaf springs and usually 24 volt lighting. if you look on Witham Specialist vehicle website, the show some of the different types, although they are getting to the end of their stocks. The pictures of these things can be very deceiving. because the tyres on them are full size landrover wheels, they seem small but were intended for towing behind heavy trucks rather than car size vehicles. Be careful you dont end up with a trailer intended for towing with a tank!
I have checked witham site and they only seem to have specialist lubricating trailers for sale at the moment. They still have some arrows trailers but these tend to be heavier than the sankeys.
