We have a pyramid 260. Cost a ton and can be set up in 20 mins inc pegging out. None of those silly external ali frames.

Packs down very small and has stood through tremendous winds.

Thoroughly recommend.

A 260 is easy to put up, not brilliant in the wind, I would class it as a British summer awning. I am know looking at an Outdoor Revolution Techlite Pro.

By not brilliant in the wind do you mean you have to take it down or it just bends about a lot

we have a 260 porch awning - takes about 15mins to put up.

also got a 390 suncamp awning. had that up in aviemore this xmas and new year. stood up to 80mph winds, until the wind changed direction and flattened it to the side of the caravan - had to take it down on Boxing Day.

they were extreme weather conditions though !! for normal wind conditions they have been absolutly fine Thumbs Up

Not had DD's problem but bends a lot and noisy, I just do not feel secure and would prefer something with storm straps just for peace of mind. I personally use it mainly in Scotland and Northumberland so weather can be unpredictable with strong winds. I only use it as a porch for wet and muddy fishing gear, dog and me.

Loopyles,
For strong winds I would think that the top guyrope should be at 45 deg.

Hi,
we changed from full awnings to a trio sport porch awning, it has more poles than I think you need with extras in the roof!! but very secure and planted, but we wanted to try a light weight porch, bought a quest elite coniston 390 off a well known website...

It took as long to put up as the trio 30-40 min, the thing we were not happy with is the lack of adjustment in the leg hight, the pitch sloped up away from the caravan, this had the effect of pulling the draught strips that should have been up the side of caravan away, if we had the trio, could have dropped the legs a bit, allowing the fit to the caravan to be better!

Has anyone else found this? on level sites think it would be fine but we like CL's so going to stick with the trio.

Thumbs Up

We have a Kampa rallye 260. Great to put up and away, 10 min job. Sturdy enough for British weather conditions and came with storm straps too. Look at atoz camping on fleabay.

Ours has roll up/down Covers over the windows in the same fabric as the awning, they're not removable though.

Hi Sarahbaxt,

does the kampa have any adjustment on the legs?

the quest 390 did not have many pegging points around the skirt either, looks like the kampa has a more "substantial" skirt.

I could just be a bit negative as we only used it once... Confused

Yes there is leg adjustment,we also bought the additional poles that you use by the inside of the van. Got it from eBay shop called a to z camping and storm straps and additional poles came free!!!
