Wonder if it's a factory refurb? Would tie in with the eBay blurb - "If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag" and the one year warranty. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Lex I'm not sure you can say something is brand new and it turn out to be refurbished 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I got my two iPads as 'refurbished, direct from the Apple store.
They come in a proper printed glossy box with all the usual packaging and trimmings.
Everything looks and a is as new (except for the word 'refurbished' as part of the print on the box).
You also receive a full year Apple warranty..... so time will tell?
Saved just under £100 each, so well worth it IMO.
But cannot speak for the one on eBay.
...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

eBuyer have a fairly good reputation and are able to offer great prices as they buy from the manf in bulk ....I'm sure if they were refurbished units it would say in the ad 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I wouldn't say it's very limiting ..I have a 64gb one too and have loads of media content on it ( 3000 songs, 59 video\films, 94 apps, full MM maps of the uk 50k&25k etc) and have barely reached 40gb. ..and the 64gb one is £480+ ....so if you don't require extensive storage then this is still a good price for a decent machine ....horses for course I guess 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Only slightly off-topic.. I'm considering an iPad or similar or the Galaxy Note, which is a smartphone with a bigger screen rather than a tablet. However, on close examination of iPads and the Note, I was a bit miffed at having to pay so much more (£80 - £100) for a 32Gb iPad over the 16Gb.. Seems a rip-off, a bit of extra memory shouldn't cost that much, surely? I'd almost made up my mind to get a Note when I read in a review that its successor is to be announced by Samsung next week.. I've only been aware of the Note for about a month, although I believe it dates from late last year.
When reviewing cheap tablets on, say, Amazon, one can buy a fully specced, but probably poor quality tablet under £100. So, does making one of better components such as (I assume..) an Apple product, really cost another £500?
Perhaps I'm being over-cynical, but I'd bet that some of this stuff pouring out of Taiwan etc costs a few quid to make and the rate of development is such that keeping up with it is pointless as replacement models come out so regularly. However, no more two year phone contracts for me... Make the most of this life, you may not have a Landy or skis in the next one.

Hi EdF,
In the tests I read, every time the conclusion is that competition is getting closer, but still cannot match the iPad. Now I'm an Apple admirer, so I'm biased.
If accidentally there is an Apple store in your vicinity, you have the opportunity to play around with any Apple product there... Just go and find out for yourself what it is like. I don't know if at any place you can try out the Note which is pleasing many people too.
