Bare wires in sump of 2010 D4

Last April I posted here "My 2010 D4 XS gives occasional amber warning when accelerating uphill that 'engine oil level monitor failed. System fault' "

Since the 3 year warranty expires in May I had an LR dealer look into this a month ago.

They found bare wires in the sump so it seems that my car was made on a Friday afternoon.

All fixed now and I am glad not to have had to pay for the 12+ hours.

Hi I would like to find out a bit more about this if I could, as our disco 4 engine locked up solid after 3 years 4 months. On inspection the wires in the sump to the oil level sensor had no insulation on them.
As a consequence the sensor hadn't sent any signals telling us the oil level was low or in our case critically low enough to seize engine.
Land rover said it wasn't a known problem and told us we must have ignored the dash pod telling us we had no oil. !
Sounds like there must be a fault, cost us £7000 to fix.
