iPad SIM deal using 3 network

I have taken a punt and bought a pre paid micro SIM for my new 4G iPad, I have a 3 dongle with 15Gb a month allowance that we share on ipads so thought it may be useful to have one independent ipad as well that could be taken from the wifi dongle zone if required. It comes loaded with 16GB usable over 6mths with a max use of 3GB a month using the 3 network. There seems to an awful lot of happy customers reviews, but only one way to try it and that is buy it Laughing Got it for £25 Best Offer Wink . As the cheapest micro SIM deal i could find was 1GB a month for £7.50 with 3 this looks very reasonable, will keep you updated when I try it next Friday Thumbs Up

May suit someone else who is or has a 3 or 4G ipad and been put off by the silly data charges for SIMS Thumbs Up

Thanks DT - very timely for me as I'm in the exact same position that you were in

Any feedback on the SIM?

Works perfectly have it in two 64GB 4G ones, and so much so I returned one of the 16GB iPads back to John Lewis today and bought a 16GB 4G, it was £100 extra but you get the GPS and of course the freedom from your dongle with the SIM Thumbs Up

No setting up to do, put in the SIM and off you go, it shows up Dida mobile which I have never heard of before I found it, all runs on the 3 network Wink

I may buy some more for 6mths time as I don't believe there is an expiry on the cards.

You could have got a giffgaff £10 goodybag payg sim ...activated it.... then cut it down to micro sim size Whistle

All you need to do then is put the sim in ...set your APN

Apn = giffgaff.com
Username = giffgaff
Password = password

Switch off and then back on again ....hey presto unlimited browsing Very Happy

Dida is £25 for 18GB for 6mths at 3GB a month which is loads, so £4.16 a month, GiffGaff is £10 a month, where is the sense in getting a GiffGaff for that? Rolling Eyes

Plenty of sense if for example you want to stream a Netflix movie then it's 1gb per hour in HD Smile

Well it's horses for courses I guess ...I have this week been capped by t-mobile for data use over fair usage on my mobile Rolling Eyes .I use heaps of data even on my home broadband... I used to get throttled by Virgin for going over 40gb per month until I changed to Sky.

If 3gb per month works for you then fine but it wouldn't last more than a week in my household. Just see it as advice on another solution Smile

I'm changing to GiffGAff on my iPhone at the end of next month, I was introduced on here, got a 3 mifi with 15GB, home BT broadband and 3 x iPads with 3Gb Dida mobile SIM for pettering about when not near home broadband or dongle, have never really gone over 2GB on the dongle so with an extra 3 SIMS with 3GB each a month I will have loads.

The best deal is a 3 'All in one' iPhone SIM only deal, 2,000 mins, 3,000 txts and unlimited data PLUS tethering for £25mth, so just use the iphone as the dongle Wink

Thumbs Up

Here's how to cut down a sim BTW

http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/mobile-p...e-or-ipad/

or here's a sim cutter

http://www.amazon.co.uk/TeckNet-iPhone-Cut...amp;sr=8-1

The sim chip component is identical for both normal and micro Smile
