I changed the rear discs a couple of weeks ago and ever since one brake is not releasing if left for 8-10 hours, I get a dull bang when I drive off as it releases.
Once released its find as long as I don't leave the handbrake on all day (or over night)
I have had the disc off again since and cannot see anything wrong, shoes are all nice and free, it just seems to glue itself together if left. any one had similar?

have you checked to see if the EPB cable on that side is free it sounds like it might be jamming on and not releasing fully at that wheel.

Talking about EPB, my dealer says that some EPBs have cables that could sieze, they exchange them and keep the blackbox, maybe if the problem is a siezed cable you could obtain only the cables and not the whole EPB.
Thanks, I'll have another look, it could be the cable although it is strange it happen directly after changing the disc and only if left for a few hours.

The cables are available separately & can be changed.
To check you should be able to pull a few mm's of slack when pulling away from the lever, (inner cable movement)
As for your shoes sticking, it's always best to take the handbrake shoes right off, as the levers can get tight causing them to bind on, & also the small wedge adjuster is seized on the front shoe, which means when you adjust it through the discs, the shoe isn't adjusted correctly, as it doesn't spring out the wedge when released.
If you didn't use genuine discs (which come painted on the hub & dry on the friction area) they would have needed de-greasing, as if not done the protective coating can gum up & leave a mess.
It is sounding more like the cable, typical, I thought I would save some time by not disassembling the EPB shoes, looks like I will have to now

Did you get new cables CG? I think I've got the same problem, and was hoping the cable is replaceable without buying a whole new EPB.
Anyone know if the EPB has to come aprt to fit the new cables, or do the attach externally?Previously:

They attach externally, no need to remove actuator. They unscrew from the actuator body,Outer cable unscrews off the body of the actuator first
one side is on a thread on the inner cable (LH) the other side is held with a clip etc. (RH)
No - it turned out to be the coating overspray on the inside of the new disc which had contaminated the shoes and sort of glued themselves on, cleaned both up and it now ok
