Hi all,
I've got a 2006 LR3 SE with the 4.4l v8.
I've noticed signs of PS fluid leak from the passenger side of the steering rack.
I've typically rebuilt components (cv joints, turbos, etc.) on my other vehicles - is the LR3 rack rebuildable? Are there rebuild kits out there? If I can, I'd like to rebuild the rack vs. Buying new or rebuilt...
Also, is the rack a LR oem part or a third party part? Anyone know who makes it?
Thanks!
Darin

its made in the Czek (I havnt spelled that correctly) republic, but cant remember the manufacture, I went through this when mine starting leaking last year. I couldnt find and seal kits, so ended up replacing it.
Saying that, I'm sure a specialist steering place could replace the seals.

Thanks for the quick feedback.
I suspected I may be outta luck with the rebuild kit - an hour searching for one came up empty.

how about trying this;http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LUCAS-OIL-POWER-STEERING-STOP-LEAK-FLUID-SEAL-355ML-/120749360638?pt=UK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint&hash=item1c1d3905fe
worked on my disco 2 steering box that would have needed the seal replacing on the swan neck shaft.
syringe same amount out and refill.bought 2 bottles but only needed the 1 and fixed perfectly.
