Hi guys....
Looked in the RTFM but no luck there.
I used to have the key programmed with one push driversdoor open, second push the other doors.
I noticed yesterday that when I push the lock button that all locks except the drivers door....even by pushen two times. When you open the door....alarm goes off.
does this with both key fobs.
What the hell is wrong.....and how to "re-program" the keyfobs that all my doors get locked
I treid to change it by pushing the open-close buttons for three seconds so it changes from "one push driver door two push other doors" to "one push all doors"....
No result.
So now I have to close my door by key.....

Hi it must be a common fault as I have had to replace a few of these locks as the same fault. The last one i did was £43 from dealer. They must wear.

I had the same fault with my drivers door.
It often would take several attempts to lock the door, alarm going off etc when you check to see if it is locked.
I replaced the lock mechanism. It cost about £36.00 + vat
It was quite simple to replace (it's always easy when you know how).
You just need a big mug of tea, plenty of patience & a step by step guide.
Iain G has posted a really good bit of information on here explaining how to replace the lock step by step.

I don't like to dig up old threads but after a significant forum search need to know how people can tell whether the lock mechanism or actuator is at fault when the drivers door won't lock.
Mine is exhibiting the same fault and I don't want to order a part I don't need to replace.
Thanks. D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk

easiest way may be to take the door trim off, the cable sits in a plastic housing behind the handle - if thats snapped then the door wont open, you should be able to check just by pulling the panel off the door. no need to unlpug anything. Duncan

The lock and the actuator are in a single unit, I'm not aware of anyone with the "not locking" problem who didn't have it solved by a new latch assembly. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
