Brake light bulbs
With all the known issues with brake bulbs what do people use, I know some swear by oem bulbs but my stealer is 40 miles away , I presume quality bulbs are fine like Bosch etc. just avoid the cheapies from the factors?

I think its just pot luck.
I had no probs with LR bulbs for ages, then a batch seemed bad - swapped to Bosch and OK for a few years then one went and replaced with anothr Bosch that failed - as a temp measure I bought some halford brands bulbs, and suprisingly they worked for years !!!
just seems to be luck of the draw in my experienceDuncan

I used to have to replace a brake light bulb every couple of months, but I changed to the heavy duty ones from Halfords about 12 months ago and they are still going strong. They are supposedly anti-vibration and shock resistant ones for 4x4's, vans, trailers etc.

I've tried loads of different branded bulbs, several from Halfords etc, yet still had to replace them every couple of months.
I finally plucked up the courage to visit my local dealer for some genuine ones, where I found they were cheaper than most I'd tried, and I've not had one blow in nearly a year.

What kind of bulbs are fitted , are they stop/tails or single filament type , I,d rather not take the lights to bits to find out when they are working fine

The bulb type is a 380. This isa twin filament bulb, with a 21W filament, and a 5W filament My D3 Build Thread
I put some OEM bulbs in last week and they were made by Ring.
Lumberjack, simple job, the lugs on the bulb are at different heights so ensure they go in the bulb holder the right way
HTHI started off with nothing and Ive still got most of it left.

Cheers Comanche, she fit like a glove. And Big shouts to Staffordshire 4x4 for the youknowwhat.
I'm now presented with a new problem.
The left rear indicator light won't come on and the green arrow on the dash flickers at twice the speed.
