pretty sure they didnt make commercials in 05 they were all conversions. So no VAT and its not a van for tax purposes e.g. on the V5 would be my guess.

Spot on - this lovely example will have been a dealer or specialist conversion from a 5 seat base model. I know because I bought our 55reg as a very similar commercial - ours was done by a Yorkshire LR dealer from new as a tax dodge for a local haulier - it was never used a van. When I went to pick it up, the seller mentioned he had all the bits that had been taken out and asked if I would like them for free - I did him the courtesy of taking the 'useless' brand new parts away . Once we had done with it as a van, I put it all back to original. It was never registered as a commercial class N1- it was always classified as M1 on the V5 (as created by LR) so has never benefited from commercial road tax at £215pa.
