Hi All.
I have a 2006 SE LR3 that has the older single cd player, so my question is, Can I replace this unit with the new 6xCD unit, and would it work all ok.
Regard

You can change the basic cd player no problem I have just fitted a double din DVD player with camera inputs etc I bought a kenwood system and fitting kit fir £270 . The only issue I had was the aftermarket loom wasn't exactly right I had to move the ignition switch live
Have a look in the electronics section theres a few posts about it in there

Rob,
Sorry, but you can't just swap over the single CD (CD400) head unit for the 6 disc model. The reason is that the base model is pretty well stand alone, whereas the 6 disc model is wired into the canbus.
It is possible - but requires a lot of wiring which would probably make it cost prohibitive for us in Australia.
I suggest your best bet would be to go to an after-market head unit and double din adapter. A lot cheaper, more functionality and better sounds are all possible.
Cheers,
Rob

Sorry, never finished that post!
So the above parts will buy you a 2-DIN hole in your dash, and adaptors needed to then plug in whatever 2-DIN DVD/GPS player you want. Or even a single DIN stereo, and use the other spot for a CB, or storage pocket.
