Bonnet catch design changed?
I ordered a replacement bonnet catch for nearside i.e. without the sensor (LR173840) from Island 4x4. The replacement is a genuine part but there are several differences to the one I was taking off. And more importantly I couldn't get the bonnet to close. The new one has a plastic insert which I suppose is to remain there as can't be removed (one of the pins goes through it). The other oddity is the range of movement in the smaller side of the lock that connects to the cable is way less due to a different design of the other side (the part which gets pushed down by the bonnet).
Anyone else come across this?

For reference, this is the original. Notice this difference in the two locking parts and also the return position of the bottom of the catch that clips on to the cable.

Decided the best solution for this is just to order the catch for the other side also as that has a similar return position so should all work out (fingers crossed).

For future reference, these worked fine. They were a different design internally but genuine LR parts. Just needed to pull those soft rubber tabs out.
