Discovery 4 HSE arriving on Friday
Hi All,
New to Disco3 and the world of 4x4 in general (apart for a short stint in a Navara).
Collecting my MY11 Disco 4 HSE on friday and cant wait, spec is HSE with surround cameras and the all important rubber mats
Its going to be quite a change to the GTR that i have been running for the past 2 1/2 years.
A wealth of knowledge here which has been great but is making my bank balance groan with all the extra bits and pieces i want to now get
I already know JHT888 on here, although he picked his up before me i am going to claim the credit for getting him into a Disco as he wanted to go back down the route of another RRS

So finally managed to pick up the car last thing today. Sad day to see my fast car era come to an end but enjoying the new D4 immensely
Added bonus that I have noticed the tow pack is on the car even though the dealer didn't mention it
Right... time for me to get my spare wheel protector for starters

Very smart shagoo
Looks almost as good as the black discos....
I prefer to think of our fast car era as simply being 'on hold' temporarily....
Will give you a shout later and pop by if you're in as I need to check on the building works.

I'm undecided on the side steps, when looking side on they look fantastic, but they seem to stick a fair way out, on the RRS they seem to be a bit more integrated with the rest of the car, if that makes any sense Now I have seen that LR are doing side bars in satin black which on a grey car looked fantastic
JT come on by, I'll get a brew on! God, fast cars gone and now replaced beer with tea,

They look better with side steps ,i dont think they stick out too much.
One advantage of side steps ,when parking ,raise the suspension to its highest and any idiot who bangs their door into your car hits the steps and not your door
And ive just realised someone has already mentioned it ,well it must be true then .

It gets worse ,the mpg indicator isnt accurate ,the only way is to fill it up and check the mileage .I used to be bothered about mpg ,cant bear to check it now

Side steps are like Marmite, you either love em or hate em.
Personally, they're not for me and I do think they stick out too much, especially as seen from a front angle.
My preference is with the side tubes, but then again not everyone likes them either.
But that's the thing with Land Rovers, you finish them off to YOUR taste, not anybody else's.
...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
